What’s new in Steerglass

Every version, newest first. Steerglass updates itself and shows these notes after each update.

0.2.3Nov 1, 2026

No account needed, and a direct line to us

  • Steerglass now works without an account for up to 3 clusters, with every feature.
  • Sign in with your steerglass.com account to unlock every cluster — free during the open beta.
  • Support & feedback: send questions, bug reports and ideas from your account area (Help → Send feedback in the app) and get answers by email.
  • macOS: a Help menu with Send Feedback and Report a Bug.
  • macOS: install with Homebrew (brew install --cask davidebettio/tap/steerglass). Every install option is now on one page, steerglass.com/install.
0.2.2Nov 1, 2026

Port-forwards you can see

  • A forwarded port now shows its local address right on the pod or service, with buttons to open it in the browser, copy it and stop it.
  • Clicking a port that's already forwarded no longer starts a second forward.
  • Copies installed from a .deb or .rpm now update themselves with the right package.
  • Linux: apt and dnf repositories at steerglass.com/linux.
0.2.1Nov 1, 2026

Light theme and what's new

  • Settings → Appearance: choose an automatic, light or dark theme. The editor and the terminal follow it.
  • "What's new" shows the changes of each version after an update, and anytime from Settings.
0.2.0Nov 1, 2026

Open beta

  • Sign in with your steerglass.com account: free during the open beta, every feature and unlimited clusters.
  • Sign-in happens in your browser — no key to copy. The license renews by itself and works offline for weeks.
  • Settings → Account shows who is signed in and lets you sign this computer out.
0.1.2Oct 31, 2026

Resource charts and a new look

  • CPU and memory: usage columns for pods, node capacity with the busiest pods, and history charts in the pod's Resources tab.
  • Cluster environments (production, staging, development, local) with a colored strip and tags.
  • Overview: redesigned cluster cards and a "Needs attention" list of failing pods, NotReady nodes and failed jobs.
  • Health filters, status pills, readiness bars and the time of the last restart.
  • Settings reorganized; a proper About Steerglass window.
  • Fixed: the pod shell closed as soon as it opened.
0.1.1Oct 31, 2026

Faster, lighter lists

  • Built-in resources download only the columns shown, compressed: up to 15× less data on large clusters.
  • Smoother tables: faster sorting, fewer redraws, lighter log search.
0.1.0Oct 31, 2026

First release

  • Steerglass for macOS, Windows and Linux: every cluster in one fast, keyboard-first window.
